Ray Turner Friday May 9 15:30 1997 MCEACHERN ; TAYLOR: I am looking for Johnny McEachern for a distant relative, Mary DEAN, who lives in Fayetteville, Ga. Johnny married a Sissy HAYES, they had two children, Wiley and Winnie. They moved from Georgia to Texas, time is unknown. Mrs. Dean visited this family in the summer of 1940 on a farm near Nash, Texas. Johnny McEachern was already dead at that time(1940). Sissie (Hayes) McEachern's funeral was sometime in the 1940AEs. Wiley McEachern was injured at birth and was mentally retarded, and is presumed dead now also. Winnie married an Edward Taylor and visited relatives in Atlanta several times after her husband, Edward, had died. Mrs. Dean kept in touch with Winnie Taylor until the summer of 1985, and lost all contact with her. She is sure the McEachern and Taylor families are buried in or near Nash , Texas. She has no dates of births or deaths. I have not been able to locate any Bowie County Cemetery books. I would appreciate any information on any of these people.

I have been researching for a friend the LASSITER family. Isaac Newton LASSITER (b. ca 1825 AL) and his wife, Sarah BAKER LASSITER (b. ca 1829 AL) came to Bowie Co., TX, between 1850 and 1854. Their children were Virgil M. (b. ca 1846 AL), James Isaac (b. ca 1847 AL), Rebecca C. (b. 1850 AL), Joseph B. (b. ca 1854 TX), and F. Newton (b. ca 1857 TX). In the U.S. Census of 1860 for Bowie Co., Sarah's last name is SANDIFER and she has married within the last year (no husband is listed however). Later Rebecca married an EPPERSON and they had William T. (b. ca 1867) and Robert N. (b. Dec. 1880); she was listed as widowed or divorced in the 1880 Census of Upshur Co., TX. F. Newton LASSITER was listed with his wife, Ann E. (b. ca 1856 in TX), and daughter, Jewett M. (b. 1880 TX). If you can connect to any of these people and are willing to swap information, please contact me. Thanks!

We are looking for Joe C. SPEARS. He was from Arkansas. We have a picture of him perhaps about 1900 taken in Dalby Springs, TX. We do not know if he was living there or just visiting with other family. That is the latest contact we have with him. We would like to find where Joe C. SPEARS is buried. Is he buried at Dalby Springs? He was a farm laborer, did he work in the area? We would greatly appreciate any help in locating Joe SPEARS. Thank you.

Archabald V. MCDANIEL and wife Margaret Mary F. MCKEE came to Bowie County before 1880 from Lincoln County, Tenn. He is listed on the 1880 Bowie tax rolls. So is Rebecca McDANIEL. Their daughter? Can not find grave of any of them. There were three sons. Napoleon (married Martha Virginia SMITH in Madison County, Ala.) and Archabald M. (married Mattie in Bowie County). Can not find out what happened to Luther or his grave. Am kin to the Napoleon line. If you have info, Email address is: geneforbes@worldnet.att.net I will be happy to send info I have about McKEES and some of the McDANIELS. banking and railroads....The 1900 census has his residence in Huntsville.
