census takers handwriting is not guaranteed, but is as accurate
as possible. If you disagree with a translation, please write
with link to the page and what you think is the accurate translation

Tescus = Texas
The I's & J's, L's & S's, along with the C's & E's
are nearly impossible to tell apart so they could be transcribed
wrong. If you are not used to the old way of writing, a
p is usually what they used in place of ss (example: Mipouri =
Missouri and Mipip = Mississ)
