John and Matilda were married on 31 Oct. 1839 in Jackson County, Ga and

Matilda had a brother named Colonel C.C. Sanders who was a veteran of
the Civil War and helped found the State Banking Company, was the Trustee
of the Brenau College and member of the Gainsville City Board of Education.
Matilda's great-grandfather was Rev. Moses Sanders, Sr., who formed several
early churches in NC. John and Matilda were married on 31 October 1839
in Jackson County, Ga and had eight children.] Martin
